Workshop Description

Wheel-Throwing Ceramics Workshop with Ray Gonzales - October 3 & 4, 2025

Through engaging, hands-on activities, students will learn clay-building techniques with wheel throwing as the focus. Ray will share techniques learned through decades of experience and will guide participants as they try them out on the potter’s wheel.

Day 1: Wheel-Throwing

Day 2: Trimming, adding attachments, carving and altering of the works.

As time permits, Ray will share valuable insights into underglazes, slips, and glazes, as well as resources and suppliers to support your continued exploration of this beautiful medium. Work completed during the workshop will be bisque-fired at the Art Center. Participants will complete glaze firing on their own or, if enrolled in a pottery class at the center, they may complete it during their class.

Who Should Join? This workshop is best for intermediate skill levels.

Registration opens Wednesday, August 13.
