Exhibition Chairperson Wanted

Do you love art and artists? Placerville Arts Association is looking for someone to fill the Chairperson position for the National Mother Lode Art Exhibition beginning in 2027. You would have the help and support of the former Chairperson, Co-Chair, and a team of volunteers. Plus, we have an instruction binder, reserved the gallery for the future and have all of the connections. It’s basically all in place, we just need someone to manage the process.

***NEW – Exploring the Future of The Gallery at 48 Natoma

The Folsom Arts Association is working with the City of Folsom Parks and Recreation Department to explore possible operational efficiencies to support the continued operation of The Gallery at 48 Natoma. With the Gallery Manager position currently unfunded, we are exploring a volunteer-supported model that will help maintain gallery exhibitions and events for the community.

Plein Air Paint Out Opportunity

Sunday October 11th

Wakamatsu Farm

From FAA Member Kathy Frevert Levenson:  The American River Conservancy has an upcoming event, Sunday October 11, that offers an opportunity to paint outdoors at historic Wakamatsu Farm in El Dorado County! The event is explained in the flyer and focuses on Art and Native Plants.

I am serving as a liaison among plein air artists painting on location that day. There will be a variety of arts and native plants-related activities and sales. Plein air artists are invited to come 8:30 to 9:30 to set up and paint.  After painting, artists are welcome to participate in the activities. The event runs from 10 am to 2 pm so by arriving early, we can set up before the main event starts. I have seen the list of activities and there are very cool things to do, especially if you like art and native plants!

Please let me know if you would like to sign up to paint at Wakamatsu Farm on October 11. Parking is free (donations always welcome). It will be a fun day! I am including some photos from the site to help you see the type of landscapes and painting scenes.

Members who joined or renewed in October, November, or December of 2025 will have their memberships extended through the end of 2026.

2026 promises to be just as full of many of the same types of wonderful programs and activities we hosted in 2025. You do not want to miss out! Memberships are due annually each January. Memberships not renewed by the end of February will lapse.

You must be a member to participate in certain programs or receive discounts before you register for them. If you are unsure of your status, check the Members Directory. Your support is what makes it possible for the FAA to provide all of these programs!
