Art Challenge 2026
First Quarter Art Challenge
About Gustav Klimt:
Gustav Klimt (1862 – 1918) was an Austrian “symbolist painter” and founding member of the “Vienna Secession Movement,” whose work helped define the Art Nouveau style in Europe.
Up until recently, he was perhaps best known for “The Kiss” and “Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer,” but that notoriety may have been surpassed with the November 2025 sale of “Portrait of Elisabeth Lederer,” for $236.4 million, making it the most expensive work of modern art ever sold at auction.

The first quarterly Art Challenge of 2026 is to use the artwork of Gustav Klimt as your inspiration.
Art Challenges provide our members with a relaxed, fun way to explore new subject matter and expand their creativity, as they showcase their diverse talents. They are conducted quarterly.
Members are encouraged to share a photo of their finished artwork on FAA’s members-only Facebook page, FAA Staying Connected. (If you are not on Facebook, you may simply email your image to folsomartists@gmail.com, and we will post it for you.) You are also invited to bring your Challenge-inspired artwork to the designated meeting to share it with the group.
