Seeking FAA Volunteers

The FAA could use the help of member volunteers to assist with some of FAA’s many activities. These activities do not require large commitments of time and are a great way to contribute to the success of FAA!

Some of the activities we are seeking help with include:

1)      Receptions Committee – The FAA hosts the receptions put on by the Gallery at 48 Natoma whenever there is a new Exhibit mounted in the gallery (4-5 times a year on Friday evenings, from 6-8 p.m). The FAA prepares and serves the food and wine for these events. (“Preparation” involves heating and plating foods purchased by the gallery, using the kitchen facilities in the gallery.) Interested Volunteers would work with the Reception Chair, Carol Quinn, and other Board members from 5- 8:15 p.m. It’s a fun way to see the art exhibits and contribute to the evening’s ambiance!

2)      Exhibit Hanging Committee – Peridocally, FAA presents membership shows at the Gallery at 48 Natoma and at the Harris Center, and it hosts the Folsom Focus Photography Contest every other year. These shows are hung entirely by FAA members. We could use a few volunteers to assist with this endeavor. Instructions and guidance are provided, and it is a great way to learn more about what it takes to put up a good-looking exhibit!

3)      Folsom Focus Photography Committee – Biannually the FAA conducts an amateur photography contest for the greater Folsom Community. The next Contest will be held in the Fall of 2024. Volunteers are needed to help develop the contest categories, pick a juror, develop marketing plans, assist with dissemination of information about the contest and hanging the exhibit. Each year there is a very robust interest in the contest!
