Two-day workshop … “Simplify the Still Life: Limited Palette” by Polly LaPorte
Paint more loosely and confidently during this workshop with Sacramento artist Polly LaPorte. Take a step-by-step approach to alla prima oil painting. Build a beautiful composition that has life and movement. Focus on keeping the freshness you desire and avoid overworking your paintings. Using a limited palette of only three primary colors plus white, students will learn Polly’s favorite exercises to warm up or just shake things up.
Explore how limitations can be freed by creating a painting in 20 brushstrokes in 20 minutes. Learn the fundamentals of good design. Polly will demonstrate and work with each student individually. Instruction in oil and acrylics is welcome.
