Still Life with Leslie McCarron

Leslie McCarron will be painting a picture of a still life that she set up on a shelf from her studio. This will be one of her classic floral subject paintings. She will use a strong light, creating fun and interesting shadows of foliage and vases.

Leslie McCarron is a Northern California native who resides in Carmichael near the American River. Leslie’s lifelong dream of creating art became a reality when in 2006 she enrolled in fine art classes at American River College. After exhibiting natural skills and ability, Leslie was encouraged to continue her art and has studied under the guidance of many established artists and mentors.

Leslie works exclusively with oil paint due to oil’s rich creamy texture and versatility. Her still life compositions and landscapes typically incorporate elements of both realism and abstraction. She is a modern painter who uses vibrant, bold color with an emphasis on light, shadow and movement. Leslie is as comfortable painting with a pallet knife as she is with a brush, often using both tools in a single painting.

Leslie is currently represented in Sacramento, California, by Archival Gallery, where she has had two one-person shows and has participated in numerous group shows. Recently, Leslie signed with the Hayden Art Agency for gallery representation in destination cities in the western US. In addition to being a multiple award winner at the annual PBS KVIE Art Auction, Leslie has shown her work in a one-person show at the PBS KVIE Gallery. Leslie’s paintings are widely collected and are in many private collections throughout the US.
