Members Classes & Events 2023
2024 Membership Dues
Last year, FAA amended its membership year, so that memberships now run from January through December each year. New members and members can register on-line. We have also implemented an additional on-line payment option for members who do not use PayPal; and payment by mailed check, or cash in person at a membership meeting are also accepted. Memberships not renewed by the end of February will lapse.
Membership benefits include a list of activities all year long! The FAA Board recently enacted an increase of $5 to our annual dues. For 2024, memberships are $30 for individuals / $45 for families – still a great bargain for all.

Painting Landscapes from Photos
Saturday & Sunday, May 7 & 8
9 a.m. - 4 p.m. in Placerville
Instruction is to focus on developing the skills of painting and personal style and to inspire artistic enthusiasm. We will use a step-by-step process of using inspiration from photo references, not to copy. There will be lessons with activities, demonstrations, practice during individual painting time, and review critiques.
Congratulations to Lori Anderson for her winning rendition of the little kitty challenge!
At the December 2023 Holiday Gathering, members were asked to share their ideas on how the FAA could help broaden their experiences. You spoke - we listened, and as a result, the FAA will implement its first suggestion - "Variation on a Theme."
Hello FAA Members and Friends,
Membership modification starting January 1, 2023
For the convenience of our members, the FAA Board of Directors has amended the FAA bylaws to modify our membership year. To simplify the renewal process going forward, we have decided that all membership fees will be due in January of each year, regardless of when you joined during the year. In January, we introduced the idea of presenting an image our members could use to inspire art. In our first challenge, twenty members accepted the challenge of their interpretation of a portrait of a kitten. In April, our image hoped to inspire Dreams of Spring! Twenty-one members accepted the challenge. What a perfect way to start the season! Our third challenge was even better. Enjoy the seals on the home page featured scroll!

FAA is proud to note that 18 of our members have had their artworks accepted into the 2023 KVIE Art Auction. The event promotes tremendous publicity throughout Northern California – printed brochures and photos on the KVIE website, including a description. All works are on display to the public at the KVIE campus in Sacramento for a whole month in the late summer. The pinnacle of the auction is on air, where your work is shown on television, and the on-air talent narrates the artist and a description of the artwork and the background.
