Margaret Blanchfield – Acrylics
Something colorful, semi-abstract, and whimsical!
Create Art Everyday.
Join us for Margaret Blanchfield’s acrylic art demonstration on March 14.
Margaret will demonstrate a whimsical abstract painting using acrylics, inks, pastels, crayons, and possibly some collages. She will incorporate some mark-making, symbols, and writing in the painting.
Margaret Blanchfield is a Sacramento artist and art teacher. She’s been teaching art for 25 years.
Margaret started as a watercolor purist and now enjoys acrylics, collages, and art journaling. Her inspirations can come from a magazine photo, the beauty of nature, or a dream fragment. Margaret loves the unusual and unexpected, the magic of possibility, and the surprise that comes with creating. When she starts a new project, she rarely knows what the end result will be. She makes decisions as she goes along.
As you will see in many of her paintings, Margaret is attracted to bold, vibrant colors. She loves the spontaneity of paint flowing onto the paper or canvas and interacting with other colors. She often starts with random splashes of color and then finds the story in the paint.
