June 2026 Mid-Year Social, Show & Tell, and Scholarship Fundraiser

FAA’s June meeting is dedicated to YOU

our members, and to our MISSION – arts education!

Member Social and Show & Tell

In addition to enjoying a light dinner buffet,* members are encouraged to bring in a sample of their artwork, and to share a few words about their art and what inspires them.

This is a great opportunity, not only to put a name to a face, but also discover just what wonderfully talented artists we have among us.

* FAA will provide a variety of food and beverages.  Members are welcome [but not expected] to contribute foods to the festivities.

And, to keep it going, our June meeting will feature what we hope will be a very successful scholarship fundraising event – Art “Stuff” for the Investing in the Artist of Tomorrow Scholarship.

We’ve received several valuable donations of art supplies* that members attending our June meeting will have an opportunity to win as a door prize.

 Participation Tickets:
$5 each
5 for $20

*Among our members’ generous donations so far:

  • A ticket to FAA’s June 25th Bus Trip to see the Monet and Venice Exhibit
  • A new Julilen French Easel
  • A used Strada Mid-size Pochade Boxl, with side trays and Olympia Backpack (for plein air painters)
  • A new set of Acrylic Gouache paints
  • A new Gaehleri ProCare Kit (storage & maintenance for air-brushes)
  • A new Protector wet paint carrier

Please contact Lori Anderson at dale_lori95630@yahoo.com, if you have new or gently-used art supplies of fundraising value to contribute to this very good cause…and bring your $20 to our June meeting. If we get 25 people giving $20, we’ll be half-way to funding next year’s scholarship!

(*Note:  Our December holiday social and art exchange will be our traditional opportunity to donate and trade art supplies of any value with other members.)

FAA Art Scholarships – Honoring Our First Recipient

… and Keeping It Going!

FAA proudly welcomes to its membership, Santino Sfrengeu! Santino is the recipient of FAA’s first – of what we hope will be an annual – “Investing in the Artist of Tomorrow Scholarship.”

An art major student at Folsom Lake College, Santino’s medium of preference is pen and ink, although he also enjoys painting (in watercolor, acrylic, and oil), and even clay and ceramics. Santino describes himself as “very competitive” and always trying to push himself to do his absolute best. He did add, though, he is working on enjoying it more  and straining a bit less.

Toward that end, Santino plans to use his scholarship money to continue his art studies, and in particular,  is looking forward to courses in portrait and figure drawing. To see a few examples of some of his favorite works so far, visit “Investing in the Artist of Tomorrow Scholarship.”

Join us on Thursday, June 11th, for our Mid-Year Social, Show & Tell, and Scholarship Fundraiser!

Please contact Lori Anderson, President, Folsom Arts Association, for questions about our monthly artist demonstrations.
