Silvia Trujillo – Composing the Landscape

Folsom Arts Association Artist Demonstration
Join us for Silvia Trujillo’s January 12 artist demonstration,
“Composing the Landscape.”

Working from a photo reference, this demonstration will show you how to create dynamic landscape paintings, either Plein air or from photos. Keeping compositional choices at the forefront (in the very beginning) is the key! You will learn the secrets of focal point placement, editing, and the rearrangement of elements. Color complements, value changes, positive/ negative shapes, and texture all lend themselves to leading the eye through a painting to give it immediate appeal or not. Let’s get you on the road to creating alluring landscape paintings just like the masters!

Silvia Trujillo specializes in a variety of painting styles. Being a professional artist for over 30 years, she has mastered numerous techniques, subjects, and a variety of media. She also conducts workshops that teach the core artistic principles of composition, value, and color harmonies. Her intuitive ability to assess an individual’s strengths and weaknesses have led her to a successful teaching career over two decades. She is the recipient of prestigious awards, a stable artist in premier galleries, and a contributing member of community art associations throughout Oregon and California.

Students of all ages have produced hundreds of successful paintings under Silvia’s mentorship. Many of her students have become award-winning and career artists themselves!

Join us for Silva Trujillo’s artist demonstration on Thursday, January 12, at 6 p.m., Gallery at 48 Natoma in Folsom.
