Terry Miura
Gouache study of an atmospheric urban scene.
Join us for terry Miura’s demonstration on February 8 – a gouache study of an atmospheric urban scene. Terry will talk about the materials and the process of painting in gouache, as well as concepts for building a compelling image.
Terry Miura graduated from Art Center College of Design in 1990 and worked as a freelance illustrator in New York City for such clients as Time, Newsweek, Rollingstone, and the New York Times. After returning to California, he established his studio in Northern California and began painting full time and exhibiting in galleries.
Terry’s subject matter ranges from complex cityscapes to evocative landscapes, and classically inspired figurative works that blur the boundaries of representation and abstraction. He is a regular participant in top plein air invitational events, and his work has won many awards of excellence.
Terry’s works are collected world wide, including pieces in the permanent collection of the Crocker Museum, the California Fine Art Museum, and the Smithsonian Institution.
