ARTIST STATEMENT:

Although I only began to paint a few years ago,
the simple beauty of watercolor paintings has always intrigued
me. The vibrancy and the movement and blending of color on the
paper and the use of unpainted areas to represent white are unique
to watercolor art and present some of the greatest challenges.
I enjoy creating moods of quiet beauty with contrasting light
and dark in my paintings.
Having grown up in New England, I was exposed to the blaze of colors
that covers the countryside in autumn and to the blue-green ocean
along the rugged New England coast.
